Avocado Pudding with Milk Recipe

Avocado Pudding with Milk Recipe

Avocado itself has a light, refreshing grassy and nutty flavor, making it unremarkable on its own. However, when blended with pudding and milk, the subtle grassy and nutty notes transform into an elegant, sweet, creamy, and cakey flavor. Why is this so?

Benefits of Avocado

Professional nutritionists classify avocado as a fat, not a fruit. Avocados are very high in fat, with 100g containing 5.9-7.8g of fat. However, their sugar content is very low, so avocados aren’t particularly sweet when eaten alone. However, when combined with the sugar and milk in the pudding and milk, the avocado’s natural aroma is enhanced. Furthermore, the smooth texture of avocado flesh, combined with milk, creates a rich, smooth juice that truly tastes like a piece of liquid cake.

Avocados are high in fat, but like olive oil, they contain healthy monounsaturated fatty acids and are rich in nutrients. So, as long as you don’t overeat, avocados are still good for you.

How do you tell if an avocado is ripe?

When the skin turns black and you can hear the pit hitting the flesh when you shake the fruit, the avocado is ripe and ready to enjoy.

Some varieties of avocados may still have the pit firmly attached to the flesh even when ripe, so shaking the fruit to listen for the sound may not be effective. The safest way is to gently press the fruit until it feels slightly soft.

How can you ripen unripe avocados?

First, avoid buying frozen avocados. Avocados should be stored at room temperature to ripen slowly. To ripen avocados faster, wrap the avocado in a paper bag with a banana or apple (plastic bags are not recommended, as they trap the evaporated water and can cause mold). The natural ethylene released by bananas or apples can accelerate the ripening process.

-Recipe-

Serves 3

Ingredients

– 250g avocado

– 2 puddings (about 200g)

– 500ml milk

-Instructions-

  1. Halve the avocado, remove the core, peel off the skin clinging to the flesh, and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. If not using immediately, drizzle some lemon juice over the avocado to prevent oxidation and discoloration.
  2. Blend the avocado, pudding, and milk in a blender until combined and enjoy.

Note:

If you don’t have pudding, you can omit it, but the juice will be less sweet, so remember to add sugar.
