How to Refrigerate and Freeze Green Beans! Don’t Forget to Devein Before Cooking
Green beans have a delicious, slightly crunchy texture, and beans are rich in nutrients. But how should you store them after purchase to keep them fresh longer? Refer to my refrigeration and freezing storage instructions. For a better texture, devein the beans before cooking.
How to Freeze Green Beans
Step 1: Wash the green beans and dry them thoroughly with paper towels.
To devein for a better texture, break off the top of the bean slightly. Slowly pull down to remove the entire string. Then devein the other end of the bean in the same way.
Step 2: Place the processed green beans in a freezer-safe ziplock bag. Remove as much air as possible from the bag, seal the bag, and refrigerate. They will keep for approximately one month.
When using frozen green beans, it’s recommended to cook them directly without thawing. If you want to cut the green beans into small pieces, you can do so while they’re still frozen without thawing.
