Ginger paste is often used in cooking. It not only adds flavor but also helps remove fishy smells, making it a very useful and common ingredient. Here’s a practical way to store ginger paste! It’s conveniently available anytime and preserves the aroma.
Puree ginger and freeze it.
The best way to preserve pureed ginger is to freeze it. This not only prolongs its shelf life and maintains its quality, but also preserves the ginger’s aroma.
Instructions
Step 1: First, make the pureed ginger. Wash the ginger and grate it, including the skin, into a puree or finely pulverize it. The skin around the ginger imparts a strong gingery aroma, so it’s recommended to leave it on.
Step 2: Place the pureed ginger in a freezer-safe ziplock bag, flatten it, and place it flat in the freezer. If the amount of pureed ginger is much less than the bag can hold, fold the bag in half to create excess space.
Step 3: When you want to use frozen ginger paste, just open the plastic bag and break off the required amount. You can cook it directly without thawing.
