Lemons are often used in fried or grilled dishes, as well as in lemon-flavored baked goods, and most of these require squeezing the juice. To help you squeeze out more juice each time without wasting it, here’s a simple method to squeeze out twice as much juice from a lemon while also preventing splashing.
Lemon Cutting Method to Double the Juice
When squeezing lemons, most people cut them in half horizontally, or first cut them horizontally and then cut them vertically into quarters. By switching from the usual horizontal or vertical cuts to diagonal “X” cuts, you can squeeze out twice as much juice. The steps are as follows.

Steps
Step 1: Lay the lemon horizontally and cut it twice diagonally in the shape of an “X.”
Step 2: Then, simply squeeze the juice out of the lemon by hand. This cut also helps the juice flow downward, preventing splashing.
Second Lemon Cutting Method to Double the Juice
If you need a smaller amount of lemon juice and need to cut the lemon into smaller pieces, refer to the following steps. You can still squeeze out twice as much juice after cutting.
Instructions
Step 1: Cut the lemon diagonally.
Step 2: Cut each half of the lemon three times as shown below.

Step 3: Finally, squeeze out the juice by hand. This cutting method also prevents the juice from splashing!
