Bacon is a common ingredient in many countries. Whether pan-fried or added to a variety of dishes, it’s incredibly convenient and delicious. Therefore, it’s a common sight on our breakfast table.
Commercially available bacon is often found in large packages, like the one in the photo. If not consumed immediately and refrigerated, it quickly spoils. Therefore, I use a simple procedure after opening the package and then freeze it. This significantly extends the shelf life of the bacon and makes it easier to prepare.
Depending on the recipe, I usually use two storage methods.
For example, if we like to eat whole slices of bacon for breakfast, I roll it up and freeze it. Later, when we’re ready to cook, we can simply roll it up and pan-fry it without defrosting it. It’s very convenient.
The rolled bacon can be wrapped in plastic wrap and stored in the freezer. When ready to cook, just cut a small piece with scissors and roll it up.
For leftover bacon, I cut a small piece, put it in a sealed bag, and freeze it.
Sliced bacon has a wide range of uses and is often used in pasta or stir-fries. When cooking, there is no need to defrost it, just put some into the pan and stir-fry until fragrant. It is really convenient.
