Everything You Need to Know About Preserving Grapes

Grapes, known for their sweet and sour taste, come in a variety of colors, such as purple, red, and green. They also contain slightly different nutrients; for example, purple and red grapes have higher levels of anthocyanins. Regardless of the grape type, if you want to preserve them longer in the refrigerator, here’s a simple method.

Grape Storage

To preserve grape freshness longer when refrigerating, you can break the grapes apart individually before refrigerating. However, do not remove the branches when breaking them apart. This can cause mold, moisture loss, and affect sweetness.

Steps:

First, line the bottom of the container where you will store the grapes with paper towels. Then, use a pair of kitchen shears to cut each grape, along with a small portion of the branch. Start at the top of the bunch and work your way down.

Simply place the cut grapes into the container one by one. Once all the grapes are gone, it’s recommended to cover the top of the grapes with a piece of paper towel and then close the container lid. Refrigerate and store.
