Every time I buy a hot dog, I usually top it with ketchup and mustard, and if I have pickle relish, I’ll add it too. But when you make your own hot dog at home, you can add some creative toppings.

Onion Steak Hot Dog Burger
Ingredients:
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
2 tomatoes (sliced)
1/4 onion (julienned)
1/4 cup steak sauce
Instructions:
Place the hot dogs in their buns, then top the hot dogs with the tomatoes and onions.
Top with steak sauce.
Peach Salsa Hot Dog Burgers
Ingredients:
2 peaches (diced)
1/2 jalapeno (chopped)
1/4 cup cilantro
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the peaches, jalapeno, cilantro, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
Place the hot dogs between the buns and top with the peach salsa from step 1.

Pizza Hot Dog Burger
Ingredients:
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
1/2 cup Italian tomato sauce
4 slices of mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup basil
Instructions:
Place the hot dogs in the hot dog buns.
Pour Italian tomato sauce over the hot dogs and top with mozzarella cheese slices. Bake the hot dog burgers in the oven until the cheese is slightly melted.
Spicy Ham and Cheese Hot Dog Burger
Ingredients:
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
4 slices of ham
4 slices of Swiss cheese
1/2 cup of pickles (sliced)
1/4 cup of spicy mustard
Instructions:
Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each hot dog bun, in that order. Place the hot dog on top of the cheese.

Bacon BBQ Hot Dog Burger
Ingredients:
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
4 bacon slices (cooked and chopped)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
Instructions:
Place the hot dogs between hot dog buns and top with the bacon and shredded cheddar cheese.
Top with BBQ sauce and you’re done.
Corn Salad Hot Dog Burger
Ingredients:
1 cup cooked corn kernels
1/2 cup chopped salad lettuce
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
1 lime (juiced)
A pinch of salt and black pepper
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
Instructions:
Combine the corn kernels, lettuce, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl and mix well. Place the hot dogs in hot dog buns and top with the corn salad from step 1.
For a more flavorful twist, the tomato basil sauce in the recipe below is also great on salad-flavored hot dog burgers.
French Onion Soup Hot Dog Burgers
Ingredients:
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
French onion soup (enough for 4 onions)
Shredded mozzarella cheese to taste
Instructions:
Place the hot dogs between the buns.
Use a spoon to scoop up the onions from the onion soup along with a little of the liquid. Pour the soup directly over the hot dogs and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Thousand Island Sauerkraut Hot Dog Burger
Ingredients:
4 hot dogs (cooked)
4 hot dog buns (cut)
1/2 cup sauerkraut
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
Instructions:
Place a hot dog in each hot dog burger.
Spread the sauerkraut and shredded cheese on the hot dogs and drizzle with Thousand Island dressing.
