7 Delicious Spice Mix Recipes

Chai Tea Flavored Spice Mix

Ingredients:

2 cloves
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions:

Place the cloves, ground ginger, black pepper, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom, coriander seeds, and nutmeg in a coffee grinder.

Use the grinder to grind all the ingredients from step 1 as finely as possible. Once ground, simply store the spice mix in an airtight glass jar.

Taco-Flavored Spice Mix

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons turmeric
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cilantro

Instructions:

Combine chili powder, turmeric, cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and ground cilantro in a bowl and mix well.

Pour the spice mix into an airtight glass jar and secure with a lid.

Store the jar in a cool, dark place indoors. It will keep for about a month. This spice mix can be used with a variety of foods, not just tacos.

Middle Eastern Spice Mix

Ingredients:

1 cup sesame seeds
3/4 cup dried thyme
3 tablespoons lemon zest
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
2-3 teaspoons salt

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 180°C/380°F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the sesame seeds on the sheet and flatten them. Toast in the oven for 5-6 minutes. Transfer the sesame seeds to a large bowl.

Add the thyme, lemon zest, marjoram, and salt to the bowl and toss with the sesame seeds.

Place the spice mix back on the baking sheet with parchment paper and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes. Remove and let cool.

Pour the spices into a sealed glass jar. They can be stored for about a month.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Mix

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions:

Combine the cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves, and nutmeg in a bowl and mix well.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup ground ginger
1/4 cup ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
A pinch of pepper

Instructions:

Combine the ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cloves, and pepper in a bowl and mix until combined. Place the spice mix in an airtight glass jar and use within 1 month.

Ingredients:

1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Combine the sesame seeds, garlic slices, onion slices, and salt in a bowl and mix well.

Roman Spice Mix

Ingredients:

1/2 cup dried basil
1/4 cup dried oregano

1/4 cup kosher salt
2 tablespoons dried garlic slices

Combine the basil, oregano, basil, chili flakes, kosher salt, and garlic slices in a bowl and mix well. Pour the mixed spice mixture into a sealed glass bottle. When you want to use it, just use a clean small spoon to scoop out the spices.
