First, in addition to a knife for cutting the cake, you’ll also need aluminum foil.

Step 1: Tear off a 20cm wide piece of aluminum foil. Fold it in half horizontally once, then again in half again, to form a long strip.

Step 2: Fold the foil vertically in half once, a second time, and a third time, to form a small square. Try to align the folds as closely as possible.

Step 3: Unfold the foil. You will see several fold lines on it. Fold the foil into the shape corresponding to the number of pieces you want to cut. For example, if you want 5 pieces, fold the foil into a pentagon. Lightly secure it with tape.

Step 4: Insert a toothpick in the center of the cake. Then, using the toothpick as the center point, place the aluminum foil in the center of the cake.

Step 5: Using the toothpick as the center point, visually trace a line along each corner of the pentagonal aluminum foil. Use a knife to cut from the edge of the foil outward. Cut the cake into five equal pieces, then remove the aluminum foil.

Step 6: Following the lines of the five equal pieces, cut the center of the cake that was previously surrounded by the foil and not cut. You can now share the cake.

Besides pentagons, aluminum foil can also be folded into a variety of shapes, including triangles, hexagons, and heptagons!
