Carrots are a versatile addition to a variety of dishes, from stir-fries to stews and soups, and their vibrant color adds a touch of color. While carrots may seem durable, they can easily wrinkle and develop black spots if not properly stored! Here’s how to properly store carrots.
How to Refrigerate Carrots
Refrigerate carrots for about 2-3 weeks.
- Step 1: Wrap a whole or cut carrot with paper towels.
- Step 2: Place the wrapped carrots in a ziplock bag, expel as much air as possible, seal the bag, and refrigerate.
※If the paper towel becomes wet during storage, replace it with a new one.
How to Freeze Carrots
Carrots can be frozen for about 1 month. Follow the steps below.
- Step 1: Wash and peel the carrots. Cut, slice, or shred them according to your desired recipe.
- Step 2: Use paper towels to dry the carrots.
- Step 3: Place the carrots in a freezer-safe ziplock bag, expel as much air as possible, seal the bag, and refrigerate.
