  • 1 teaspoon Minced ginger
  • A little Chili threads
  • A little Scallion threads
  • A little White pepper powder
  • To taste Mushroom vegetarian oyster sauce or soy sauce paste
  • To taste Rice wine

Notes

  • Clean the cod fillets thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Place the cod fillets in a steaming container, drizzle with a little rice wine to remove any fishy smell, and lightly rub the fillets with the wine to coat both sides.
  • Sprinkle minced ginger and garlic evenly over the fillets, drizzle with a suitable amount of vegetarian oyster sauce or soy sauce paste, and finally sprinkle with a little white pepper powder according to personal preference.
  • Add half a cup to one cup of water to the outer pot of a Tatung electric rice cooker, turn it on, and wait about 3 minutes until you hear the water boiling. Then place the fillets in the pot, close the lid, and continue steaming for about 6-8 minutes. When the cooker switches off, let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
  • While waiting, you can slice some scallions and chili peppers and soak them in cold or ice water to curl them up. Use this as a garnish.
  • Before removing the fillets, place the scallion and chili pepper slices on top, cover the pot again, and let it steam briefly before serving.
