Black pepper sauce isn't just for restaurants. Learning how to make your own makes it versatile, making it a must-have sauce for rice. What are some tips for making black pepper sauce?
Total Time 20 minutes
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 2 small pieces of butter
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 onion
  • 4 tablespoons black pepper (adjust to your spiciness)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce paste
  • Certain Tomato paste
  • Certain Sugar
  • Certain White wine or rice wine
  • Certain Other spices (such as bay leaves, Italian spices, etc.)
  • 200 ml water (adjust to your preference)
  • 1 tablespoons cornstarch or lotus root powder

Notes

1. Sauté: Add butter to a pan and allow it to melt and release its aroma. Then, add minced garlic and onion and stir-fry until fragrant.
2. Stir-fry: Add black peppercorns and stir-fry until the spices are combined and the spiciness is released. Add soy sauce paste and stir-fry until the sauce is fragrant and ready to serve.
3. Add Water and Flavor: Bring the sauce to a boil. If using white wine or rice wine, use less water.
4. Seasoning: Taste the sauce. If it's too spicy, add a little sugar to moderate the heat. Add a little tomato sauce to soften the heat and help the flavors blend.
5. Reduce and Thicken: Allow the sauce to thicken as it simmers. Thicken it slightly to your desired consistency.
