In addition to strawberries, persimmons, and other fruits in abundance during winter, sweet and juicy oranges are also available. Simply peel and eat them straight away. But oranges can be enjoyed on their own or in a variety of recipes. Here are some popular orange recipes for you to try.

Orange, Pomegranate, and Pistachio Salad

- First, make the salad dressing. Combine the honey, olive oil, vinegar, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl and mix well. After peeling the oranges and grapefruit, cut the flesh into small chunks or slices and set aside.
- Place lettuce in a large salad bowl, add the sliced oranges and grapefruit, then add the red onion, pistachios, and pomegranates.
- Drop the salad dressing from step 1 over the salad.

Grilled Orange Salmon

- Preheat oven to 190°C/350°F.
- Rinse the oranges, slice them directly with the skin, and remove the seeds.
- Grease a large gratin dish with butter and arrange the slices of one orange on top. Finely chop the dill and add it to a large bowl along with the softened butter, salt, and black pepper. Stir well, then add the mustard and mix well.
- Dry the salmon fillets with a clean paper towel and place them on top of the orange slices in the gratin dish.
- Spread the seasoned butter from step 4 evenly over the salmon, then arrange the remaining orange slices on top of the salmon.
- Add the vegetable stock to the gratin dish and bake the salmon in the oven for about 18-20 minutes.
- Once the time is up, leave the salmon in the oven until the residual heat is cooked through.
- When the salmon is cooked through, remove the gratin dish from the oven and arrange on a plate with the orange slices. Season with additional salt and black pepper to taste.

Stir-fried Orange and Cabbage

- Zest a small amount of the orange, peel it, and dice the flesh.
- Pour butter into a pan and sauté the onion along with the butter until golden brown.
- Add the shredded cabbage to the pan and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Then, add the orange zest, flesh, and vegetable broth and continue sautéing until the cabbage is tender, about 20 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cabbage with salt and black pepper, toss, and then add the sugar. Continue to stir-fry until the sugar dissolves and serve.
Orange-Flavored Desserts
There are many ways to use oranges in desserts. Besides squeezing their juice and mixing it into dough, you can also use sliced oranges as cake decorations or simply use the pulp in desserts. If you have oranges that aren’t rotten but are simply overripe and less flavorful, you can still use them in desserts, as overripe oranges tend to be sweeter.
